FAQs

How is this different from a care agency?

1

A care agency employs carers and places them with clients — they manage the employment relationship, but you have less say over who comes into your home and continuity can be a challenge.

We work differently. We provide independent advice and coordination support, helping you find, interview and set up your own care arrangements, so you have full control over who you bring into your home and how care is structured. We have no financial interest in recommending any particular carer or provider, which means the guidance we give is always genuinely in your family's best interests.

Do you provide carers?

2

No, we help families recruit and set up their own care arrangements, rather than supplying carers myself. This means I support you through finding suitable candidates, reviewing their documentation (DBS checks, references, insurance), supporting the interview process, and putting proper care plans in place.

The carer you choose works for your family, not for an agency. This often means better continuity, a stronger relationship, and more flexibility — but it does mean the employment responsibility sits with you. I'll guide you through exactly what that involves.

Are you regulated?

3

No. Our role is advisory support only: we provide guidance, help families set up their own arrangements, and offer ongoing support and oversight. This is a service based on professional expertise and experience, not regulated care delivery. We’re always transparent about this distinction, and happy to explain what it means in practice for your family.

What areas do you cover?

4

I'm based in and primarily cover Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and the surrounding areas. If you're just outside these areas, please do get in touch — depending on the nature of support needed, I may still be able to help, particularly where a significant amount of the work can be done remotely or by phone.

Can you help with funding?

5

Yes, we can guide families through options. We have also listed some useful resources further down this page. We are always happy to talk to you and advise you on what funding is available to you - you may have more options than you realise.

We’re not sure what we need yet, is that ok?

6

Absolutely, and it's very common. Many families come to us feeling uncertain, overwhelmed, or simply unsure where to start. The initial consultation is specifically designed for this: a chance to talk through your situation openly, understand your options, and work out together what kind of support would be most helpful.
